POSITION TITLE: 1.0 FTE Long-Term Substitute K-5 Mathematics Intervention Specialist
Reports to: K-5 Mathematics Department Head & Building Principal
Terms of Employment: To cover a leave of absence from approximately January 2, 2025 through mid-March, 2025.
$175 per diem, non-benefits eligible position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate MA DESE licensure in Elementary and/or Mathematics (1-6)
- Possess strong communication skills, and experience working with elementary mathematics intervention or K-5 math instruction
- Possess experience collaborating with math department members or school personnel to support individual student learning needs
- Experience with math assessments such as AMC Anywhere, Aimsweb or other content specific assessment tools
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional growth
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Mathematics Intervention Support will provide small group or individual intervention to students who have been identified through math specific assessment tools and progress monitoring measures. Math Intervention Support will collaborate with the K-5 Mathematics Department, building based Math Specialists, and classroom teachers to support specific student learning needs, monitor student growth based on grade level math benchmarks, and plan instruction using district provided mathematics resources.
Math Intervention Support will consistently communicate, maintain, and share progress monitoring information with classroom teachers, math specialists/coaches and families. Math Intervention Specialists may be asked to participate in building based child study meetings.
Travel between two schools may be required.
