Position Title: Physical Therapist
FLSA: Exempt
Reports to: Director of Special Education and Building Principals
Terms of Employment: 184 day work year. Benefits and salary in accordance with the LEA Unit A collective bargaining agreement
** Salary schedule attached for 2017-2018 school year; successor agreement being negotiated
Unit A 17-18 Salary Schedule
Responsibilities:
- Supports Instructional programming by providing physical therapy to students as required.
- Assesses students as part of the special education team to determine eligibility for special education services.
- Consults with staff to meet the needs of all students requiring physical therapy
- Implements therapeutic plans outside of and within the general education setting
- Schedules students into appropriate instructional groups
- Assists with mobility, transitioning and personal care as needed
- Collaborates with team members to develop IEPs and attends IEP meetings
- Participates in Data Team and Child Study Team meetings; supports teachers and students with fine motor, visual perception and sensory integration needs
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications & Physical Demands:
Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist.
Classroom experience and college degree required.
