Position Title:          Custodian - Class 18  - Nights

Reports To:              Principal/ Director of Public Facilities or designee

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   12 month (260 days) with benefits and salary in accordance the SEIU Local 888 collective bargaining agreement    

 

2 positions

 

Start Date: February 1, 2024

 

Shift: MON – FRI 1:00PM – 9:30PM

 

Hourly range: $23.4804 - $27.3840

 

Starting salary: Class 18 Step 1- $48,839

 

Differential : 5%

 

Seasonal snow stipend: $600 per the SEIU contract

 

Annual Clothing Allowance: $150 allowance per the SEIU Contract

 

Benefits include:

 

Vacation - 2 weeks accrued annually after the first year of employment

Performance Responsibilities:

 

A Custodian is responsible for maintaining a safe and cleanly environment. Responsibilities include the daily cleaning of an assigned area. A Custodian must maintain good relationships with all building stakeholders. Custodians are also tasked with various set ups and break downs for numerous School or rental events and activities.  A Custodian is expected to report building deficiencies to their Supervisor.

 

 

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

Must possess the ability to:

  1. Maintain an assigned school building, group of buildings or office space in a clean, orderly, safe and secure manner during an assigned shift
  2. Use and maintain equipment such as automatic floor cleaning machines, vacuums, carpet extractors, lawn mowers, mops, brooms, shovels, snow blowers, leaf blowers, small hand tools, ladders, personnel lifts, and miscellaneous other cleaning tools and equipment.
  3. Learn custodial procedures, methods and schedules
  4. Use common cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and efficient manner
  5. Work cooperatively with others
  6. Meet schedules and time lines
  7. Understand and follow oral and written directions
  8. Exercise sound judgment
  9. Work well under pressure
  10. Communicate and work well with others
  11. Be reliable and organized
  12. Use computer to request supplies and services
